memory: A Long Time Coming
[The surroundings are the usual industrial grunge of the Fright Zone, though it appears to be a lab, with piping and machine surrounding a massive blood-coloured stone, glowing faintly. Scorpia and Entrapta are bustling around, installing machinery and connecting it to the stone, and Kohime is apparently supervising, telling them to hurry it up.
She's interrupted by Shadow Weaver, who storms in, looming ominously over Kohime and telling her she won't be setting up anything:]
SW: Did you really think you could invade my inner sanctum without me noticing? I never thought you were so bold as to openly rebel, but it will be my pleasure to put you back in your place.
[She raises a hand, as if she's going to strike Kohime, but this time –– this time, Kohime doesn't flinch back. She just smiles and answers in a patronizing tone.]
Catra: Oh, Shadow Weaver. I can do whatever I want with this hunk of rock.
SW: Absurd! By whose authority?
Hordak: By mine.
[This is about when the resident evil overlord of the Horde cuts in, appearing via several viewing screens placed around the room. The three girls –– Scorpia, Entrapta, and Catra –– all bow to him, Shadow Weaver does not, shocked by this turn of events.]
Hordak: Catra and Entrapta have been working on a way to meld this strange First Ones tech with our machines, to weaponize it. I found out, and was intrigued. I gave Force Captain Catra and her team my blessing to ahead. So understand, Shadow Weaver, I am displeased with your interruption.
[Shadow Weaver tries to argue that a "Princess" (Entrapta) shouldn't be allowed to mess around with the rune stone (the "Black Garnet"), Hordak points out that everything Entrapta touches gets exponentially more destructive, and Kohime just looks smug as shit. Rather than accepting her lord's decision, however, Shadow Weaver shrieks in rage and releases a violent torrent of shadow magic, shattering the view screens and forcing Kohime to leap clear of her strike.
Kohime tries to warn the others not to allow Shadow Weaver to touch the rune stone but it's too late –– the sorceress presses her hands to its surface and draws in power, a small stone set in the forehead of her mask glowing with the same light of the stone. She lashes out and freezes Entrapta and Scorpia with her magic, immediately taking them out of the fight, but Kohime is able to leap clear when she tries to surround her with the shadow magic.]
SW: That's right, run away! It's the only thing you've ever been good at! You've always been a disappointment, you've learned nothing from me!
[The sorceress fires black crackling jagged magic strikes at Kohime, who dashes clear each time, using pipes and machine for cover or to get to higher ground when she needs to. The sorceress is careless in her attacks, slicing through cables and crushing machinery in her attempts to get at Kohime. Ultimately, she ends up scaling the machinery to get up into the ceiling, and Shadow Weaver loses track of her.]
Catra: Oh no, I've learned everything from you! How to predict when you'll strike! How to dodge, how to resist! You thought you were punishing me all these years? Wrong. You were training me for this day!
[With that, she drops from above to rake her claws over Shadow Weaver's mask, causing it to crack (but not split fully) and shattering the small gem set in it which allowed the sorceress to channel the rune stone's power. This causes the shadows she summoned to recede, releasing Scorpia and Entrapta from her hold. Kohime stands over her as she scrabbles pathetically at the piecces of the little gem, begging the power to come back to her, and instructs Scorpia to restrain the sorceress and take her into custody.
She then invites Entrapta to finish connecting her machinery.]
