Lvl. 2: The Audience Chamber

[The room is -- well, you know what? You don’t care about the room (it’s largely generic except for a bed placed in the back right corner that looks a little odd and out of place). Because what’s in the room is much more important. It’s Kohime, or something like her. (This is an idea of what you’re dealing with.) The base of the form is a Horde version of herself, only there’s a slight problem: half of her face extending down across her collarbone and including her shoulder and leg are just gone, a black, shapeless void where flesh and bone should be. Where her body connects to the void is a jagged, glowing line, and expanding out from that in the corporeal part of her body are cracks and splinters, looking almost like the reality of her existence shattered. Her mouth is a little too wide, a little too full of teeth that are long and bone-white and deadly sharp, and her eyes narrow on you almost immediately, the pupils slitted and predatory. She’s larger than she should be, standing almost twice your height, though her weight doesn’t seem to have kept pace as she’s unnaturally thin, giving her an inhuman appearance. Her tail is wrong, like the blood flow was cut off and the tissue died, leaving the flesh dry and leather-like until it gives away to bleached bone at the tip, the vertebrae still remaining connected somehow. Anything she touches distorts; she’s damaging the room.

In one hand she carries a large, long jagged piece of metal, wielding it like it’s a sword even as it glitches with her distortion. She’s unpleasant and menacing, though it also seems like her existence is struggling to hold itself together, not to crumble away into the black void eating at her form or rot.]

[––Unless, of course, you're being led in here by a Kohime. If so, the monster is still there, but she appears to be sleeping, curled in a corner of the room that's overly shadowed and distorts around her.]

Her stomach feels upset, but also she follows behind, staying close. ]

[If you look at her (it?), you find you recognize things in her. Places you've been here –– the Prison, the Barracks, the halls and other places, people and echoes of memories –– though you'd be hard-pressed to explain how. It's not like the different areas' physical features are there, but you just know these are the things she's cobbled together from.

Kohime just crosses the room to the bed like it's totally normal to have a horrible Persona-style shadow monstrosity in the room with you.]

Don't wake her up, she's such a pain. Always going on about how she's the "True Core" and trying to run the place.

[She lifts the bed –– it's a Murphy bed like in the BARiTONES dorms, and there's stairs leading down hidden under it, though you can't see what's at the bottom of them.]

She's not, by the way. The one you want to talk to's hiding down here.

[She walks towards the bed, like it's perfectly normal to have a horrible Persona Shadow monster in the room with you.

Looking at her, you recognize pieces of the world you've been exploring in her. You can't quite explain it, it's not like there's physical attributes of the rooms or anything, but the places you've been, the people you've seen, she's cobbled together from that.]

[As you look, you can recognize different places you've been, people. The Barracks, the Prison, Shadow Weaver, the Catra you encountered after the memories of Adora, and so on. You'd be hard-pressed to explain how, it's not like the physical structures are there, but somehow you just know this thing is cobbled together from all of that.

The Kohime you were with actually follows you in, barely sparing the monster a glance, like it's totally normal. She crosses to the bed and lifts it –– it's a Murphy bed, like in BiT's dorms, and there's a set of stairs leading downwards hidden underneath.]

[ goes over, arching a brow at the stairs. ]

Not exactly. She's more like, I don't know, a result of all of that? Or something? Anyway, you really don't want to deal with her. The True Core is down this way.

Alright. [ she’s going to take her word for it. she’s also not looking to fight any version of kohime, not again, because that had been a disaster. ]

[ she nods and heads down the stairs. ]

... [ she takes a deep breath and starts to creep closer. she'll take care with each and every step she takes, all the while trying to figure out just where she's going to put this thing when she finally does get close enough. ]

[She's curled up slightly on her side, and doesn't seem to be stirring so far.]

[ she's going to hold her breath as soon as she's close enough and crouch down alongside her. she holds out the snake/locket and... uh. ok. she didn't think of some place to put it. maybe she can, like, kind of get it around her... wrist... ]

[ this seems like a bad idea though... ]

[ where are her hands? is this going to be possible? hm. ]

[ she hops back and makes a face, just now realizes that she doesn't have a plan if this goes south. run the fuck out of the room? y- yeah, uh, sure... that works. if she succeeds, she supposes that's the plan too. honestly, she's not sure. ]

[ she stands there for another couple of seconds, waiting to see if she'll move again, because then she's creeping back over. ]

[ ok, here goes... something... ]

[ d.va crouches back down and it's going to try to slip the snake around her wrist. ]

[She can do that. The little statue moves almost like it's liquid, coiling around her wrist and melding until it's almost a part of her.]
