[Shadow Weaver narrows her eyes, but only says "In a moment," in response to Intensity, though it somehow communicates her disdain and knowledge that you are both, in fact, vermin.

Adora pipes up, her expression and tone nervous, eager to please and anxious to explain.

“I––we’re sorry, Shadow Weaver! It’s just, we just covered grappling in class, and I thought –– I mean, I told Catra I could be hurt, and she said she could win, so we. . . it was a race.”

Shadow Weaver clasps her hands together in front of her narrowing her eyes as Adora speaks. “Of course you could beat her. Only a fool would think different.”

At this point, Catra frowns, hunching up her shoulders and looking to the side. Her ears fold back and her tail lashes and flicks.

“But she beat me -- even though she wasn’t using the grappling hook,” Adora protests.

“Did she. Nevermind that, Adora. Your performance was impressive, to be able to scale to the top at your age. I’m pleased at your skill, but from now on, you are only to demonstrate it using the proper equipment in the training room. Do you understand?” she asks, moving forward to stroke her hair. It looks like it should be a motherly caress, a gesture of kindness and love, but there’s something just off about her tone and manner. It’s syrupy and overdone, ringing false, but Adora doesn’t seem to notice, perking up hopefully at the words. Then Shadow Weaver turns to Catra, who looks up at her nervously, equal parts afraid, but also hopeful.

“And you. You will docked three days’ rations and report to Force Captain Callix after your daily training for additional assigned labour,” she says, her tone curt and cold.

“––What? But that’s not fair, I––” Catra starts, but she’s cut off as Shadow Weaver snarls, raising a hand like she means to strike, her shadows gathering and seemingly making her grow in size, and definitely in menace. Adora flinches but keeps her rigid posture, Catra flinches and steps back, clearly frightened.

“Silence! Count yourself lucky that’s all you’re getting, insolent child! Dragging Adora down with these incidents of insubordination is exactly what I warned you against, or perhaps I should send you to a cell instead?”]

[When that arm comes up, Intensity grabs at Shadow Weaver's wrist and attempts to yank it back.

And through gritted teeth:]

Should I tell Lord Hordak that you were late because you were too busy working through your power fantasy? Shadow Weaver. Sir.

[Is it Ma'am in this instance? What the fuck ever.]

[ pleasedontdie. pleasedontdie. pleasedontdie. ]

[ she's on serious edge as she's going to, once again, attempt to get the girls the fuck away from this wispy witch. ] Come on, girls, we should get you back to the... [ clears her throat and just mumbles something half intelligible. ]

Come on. Now. [ listen to her, dammit. her eyes flicker to shadow weaver. ] We'll take them back.

[The girls are looking at. Well, everyone, really, with wide-eyed confusion, because what the fuck this is not how things go, though they don't resist D.Va trying to lead them away.

Meanwhile, Shadow Weaver narrows her eyes at Intensity.

"Cadet, what do you think you are doing?" is all she says, calm and oily. Though she doesn't wait for an answer and curls the fingers on her other hand, summoning her shadow magic so that it crackles around Intensity and constricts him.]

[Well.

This is a bit deja vu. It's like he didn't learn anything in Kohime's dream at all really!

And he does his best not to choke and still sound like a smug sonuvabitch when he replies:]

Just. following. orders.

[So. How much freedom of movement does he have? Is it some or none at all?]

[ INTERNAL SCREAMING. ]

[ INTERNAL SCREAMING! ]

[ she calls her bot over and motions for the girls to get on. since they're small they should both be able to fit, right? right. ] Get them out of here. Go. [ she's going to move backward along with it, with them, but she's not removing her eyes from intensity and shadow weaver, because if she needs to help, then she's going to help. ]

[ right now he...
well he's not doing that great. ]

[ she pulls out a flash grenade and gets ready to pull the pin. ]

[ you have one chance to get the fuck out of there, intensity, or else she's interfering. ]

[None at all, she's none too pleased.

She calls out to Adora (apparently not too concerned with the evacuation):

"Summon the guards. We have traitors in our midst."]

[ and she's whipping around to look up at adora,
pleading with her in silence, because please don't. ]

We're trying to help,
we're not traitors.

[Adora hesitates. But Shadow Weaver gives a warning "Adora," and she flinches. Her answer is "Y-yes, Shadow Weaver," before she goes, Catra also hesitating until Adora tugs on her sleeve to get her moving.]

[ she is going to chase after them. she's not letting them call ANYBODY. and if she needs to, she'll totally abduct catra, apparently, but here's to hoping it doesn't come to that. ]

[It's Catra who notices D.Va giving chase, and all she says is an urgent, alarmed "Adora. . .!" before the other girl realizes and they both break into a full run.

What will you do?]

Girls, please!

[ she's not going to harm these girls, so she's just going to break into a sprint, herself, and try to get in front of them. ]

At least hear me out! Do you think somebody intending to harm you would stand up to Shadow Weaver, of all people! That's, like, insane, yeah? We didn't want her hurting you. Either of you. [ mostly catra. we really only care about catra. ]

[Oddly, instead of taking the hallways, they skid to a stop in front of a loose panel, apparently planning to squeeze inside the wall. She might be able to grab at least one, if not both, if she tries.]

[ she is going to attempt to grab the both of them! but if it becomes clear that that's going to be too much for her, since she's alone, then she'll just grab at catra. ]

[Even Catra might be a bit much, as she twists with a shriek and tries to bite D.Va.]

[ SHE'S USED TO IT. ]

[ also, she's using her tail to help snare catra. ] Stop. [ it's sounding more like a plea at this point, but she's got no intention of letting go. ]

[HEY! He's not getting vaporized immediately. That is better than he was expecting.

Well, since he can't raise his hands in mock surrender or shrug, he'll just continue being a smug bastard.]

Well. What about those Blue Eyes tranq darts? Does he have to be able to touch the bot to activate it?]

Though apparently Shadow Weaver's current plan is to choke him out, so he might want to move quick while he's, you know, still conscious.]

Force Captain. This is Intensity.

I've apprehended a traitor to Lord Catra. Requesting back-up.

[It's the same dude from before, looking a little annoyed.]
