Anyway, she started, like, getting together with Shrike –– [and she crosses her fingers, twined, you know?] –– and didn't bother telling me about it. Because I guess that's not important for me to know, or whatever? But I pretty much walked in on them, then walked out on her.

I thought it'd be nice to be the one to leave. For once.
